Charleston Symphony

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra is an American orchestra based in Charleston, South Carolina and performs Masterworks and Pops series, Youth Orchestra concerts and more, at the Gaillard Center and dozens of other venues across the Lowcountry. Our mission is to inspire and engage our community through exceptional musical performances and educational programs.


North Charleston POPS!

The North Charleston POPS! is a fully professional orchestra dedicated to bringing music of a popular nature to the Lowcountry. We have a unique style of combining an orchestra with other genres of music and vocalists, as well as video delights. We pride ourselves on being innovative, unique, and totally entertaining.


Mount Pleasant Symphony 

The Mount Pleasant Symphony Orchestra is composed of professional and amateur musicians from Charleston and the Lowcountry. Since 1995, we have been run by musicians, for musicians. We employ a contemporary approach in sharing and promoting symphonic music, maintaining excellence in performance and providing entertaining historical context in order to maximize accessibility. We are firm believers in the power of music; that it is has the power to unite people and bring communities together.

CHARLESTON LOW BRASS SEMINAR

Dr. Clarkson is the founder and director of the Charleston Low Brass Semniar. This three day, intensive day camp open to rising 8th Grade Students to college level low brass students.


CHARLESTON SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY

Dr. Clarkson is currently an Adjunct Professor at Charleston Southern University where he teaches Low Brass Ensemble, Music Appreciation, Brass Methods for Music Education majors and Music Theory 1. He is also an instructor for tuba, euphonium and trombone.


WANDO HIGH SCHOOL

Dr. Clarkson is the Brass Coordinator at Wando High School where he teaches Brass Area Curriculum Development, chamber music and is the marching band brass instructor.
